How long does the Green Card process take in Miami?
In my case, the Green Card process took more than a year. The process is a bit long, it is divided into two parts.
• In my case, I was applying from Miami, for the residency for special abilities. So first I had to show, through the form I140, that I have extraordinary ability.
• When I was able to demonstrate extraordinary abilities, then I was only able to apply form I485. Which is finally the application for permanent residence.
At the end of March 2018, I sent the application to immigration to approve my extraordinary abilities. The form I140 petitions for an immigrant worker.
• On April 17, 2018, the form and 797 arrived. This is the approval of my extraordinary abilities.
• As you can imagine that was a very happy day. But I was only in the middle of the process. I still had to formally send the application, the Green Card, the form I485.

So I sent the application for the Green Card. That is why a few days later, a document arrived stating that I had to go to an immigration office to register my fingerprints.
 • On November 6, 2018, it was my interview for the Green Card. My appointment was at 8 in the morning and they finally finished seeing me at 11:30 in the morning. Moments of tension.
The officer unfortunately told me: I cannot approve your residency at the moment, because important information is missing. I have to show my superiors that you are not going to be an economic burden for the United States.
• This took me by surprise. I was trying to convince the officer, and she couldn't, and she told me I can't approve your Green Card right now. What is going to happen is that I am going to send you a letter. And when the letter reaches you, you are going to show me and you are going to send me all the evidence that is necessary for me to approve your case. If you bring me the evidence that I am asking for, everything will be fine.
• Logically when I left that interview I was totally defeated. I was waiting for the officer's letter, but the officer never sent the letter with which she would ask for more proof of my income.

• However, on June 5, 2019, an email arrived stating that my permanent residence in the United States was approved. They sent me my Green Card and it is valid for 10 years.
